Heritage Plaza

Upon entering downtown you will be met with a park called Heritage Plaza, which center feature is a life-size Bruce Greene bronze of a settler on a horse drinking from a fountain, called “On the Banks of the Bosque.”

The Plaza was a project begun in 1997 by the Clifton Main Street Project and finished in 1999. Funds were raised to complete the project by selling miniature bronzes of the original piece. In 2007, the Main Street Board of Directors renewed life to the Plaza and used a Texas Department of Agriculture grant along with private funding to replace the fountain with a more life like water feature, and planted trees, and Saint Augustine grass.
